Additionally, the authority urged them to be wary about dating over social media platforms.

Not only this, but the notice also advises residents to be careful about falling into the buying a foreign wife trap, warning them about losing money and person.

Despite this restriction, illegal agencies continue to operate this scheme, thereby, sustaining the scam. Similarly, illicit marriages have been reported in Pakistan where agencies scam Christian families. The fraud involves Christian men shown as healthy converts.

The illegal agencies allure the bride’s families by serving them the groom's fake identities as perfect matches.
To this, Islamabad’s China Embassy stated that no strings were found attached to the forced prostitution of Pakistani women in China. However, they admitted to illegal matchmaking practices.
Trafficking and other illegal schemes are facilitated by gaps in legal laws and actions. Chinese residents can get visas to Pakistan without much hindrances. In contrast, Pakistanis face numerous difficulties in getting entry to China, allowing criminals to work easily.
